Ho iniziato il mio percorso con la dottoressa Damaris con un misto di speranza e naturale timore, sentimenti comuni quando ci si affida a un nuovo professionista per prendersi cura della propria salute mentale. Fin dal primo incontro, però, ogni dubbio è svanito, lasciando spazio a un profondo senso di accoglienza e sicurezza.
La dottoressa Damaris possiede una rara combinazione di grande profondità emotiva e spiccata professionalità. Ha una straordinaria capacità di metterti a proprio agio, creando uno spazio terapeutico protetto, privo di giudizio e autenticamente empatico. Con lei è facile aprirsi: possiede quella naturale sensibilità che fa sentire compresi e ascoltati nel profondo, anche quando si affrontano temi complessi, delicati o dolorosi.
Ciò che apprezzo di più del suo approccio è la capacità di spaziare tra i diversi argomenti con il giusto tatto e una misura impeccabile. Non c'è mai la sensazione di forzatura o di fretta; ogni riflessione viene accolta e trattata con il giusto peso, unendo la dolcezza dell'ascolto alla lucidità di un orientamento clinico solido e competente. Sessione dopo sessione, mi sta aiutando a fare chiarezza dentro di me, offrendomi spunti di crescita preziosi e strumenti concreti per affrontare le sfide di tutti i giorni.

Damaris m’a beaucoup aidé au cours de mon voyage vers une sobriété où je prends plaisir dans la vie à nouveau.

I met Dámaris a month ago in a treatment centre in Spain and after 28 days there was no way I was finding another therapist when I came back to England. Dámaris doesnt take any of my bulls**t and is helping me to get to the root cause of my addiction and self loathing. She is the first therapist I have been able to be completely honest with and she tells me exactly what I need to hear not what I want to hear. I honestly can't say enough good things about my experience. From the first session, I felt comfortable and never judged. Damaris is incredibly patient, and easy to talk to, which made opening up much easier than I expected.

She has helped me understand myself better, work through difficult emotions, and develop healthier ways to cope with stress and challenges as well as better my life. I always leave our sessions feeling lighter, more hopeful, and with practical tools I can actually use in my everyday life.

J’ai rencontré Dámaris à un moment difficile de ma vie, une énième rehab.
En plus de toutes ses qualités sur le plan purement thérapeutique, je me suis trouvé face à quelqu’un d’extrêmement humain, bienveillant, aimant et dévoué. Ma connexion et mon affection pour Dámaris furent instantanées. Il s’agit d’une thérapeute qui connaît très bien son métier, qui fait preuve d’un grand professionnalisme, mais qui sait aussi vous prendre dans les bras quand c’est la seule chose dont vous avez besoin. Dámaris a continué de me soutenir bien après que j’ai quitté le centre.

I hold Damaris in very high esteem.

I met her at a very difficult time in my life. I came to Spain from Los Angeles for rehab.
I was sober but didn’t want to be. I was suicidal. I had no idea what to do, or where to go next. I had no enthusiasm for anything. I loathed myself.

I also had serious sexual issues. Issues with intimacy and around performance. I was burdened with so much guilt and shame.

This was two years ago.

I have been seeing Damaris almost every week since then and I am so grateful to have her in my life.

As far as I understand it, she practices some form of gestalt therapy, with an emphasis on the cognitive behavioral side of things.

She is direct, frank and disarming (perhaps the most important qualities in a good therapist).

She is ready to improvise and to change tack when the situation calls for it. She is clear-eyed and principled.

I know that every session with Damaris is an opportunity, should I choose to take it. Sometimes I have been too depressed or listless to take these opportunities, but Damaris saw more in me than I did in myself. She has stuck with me throughout.

And over time, little by little, I have crawled out of the hole I was in. It was a deep hole. It was a black place!

Now the sun is out.
